I’ve been perfecting my Christmas Sugar Cookies (cut outs) for 20+ years. this is often the most effective Christmas Cookie ice formula i take advantage of to prime them!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Cup shortening, like Crisco (*see notes)
- 1 teaspoon seasoner
- 1 teaspoon flavourer (*nut allergies see notes)
- 1 massive bag granulated sugar (2 lbs, concerning eight cups)
- 1/2 Cup cream or milk (more if required to succeed in desired consistency)
- Food coloring, if desired
DIRECTIONS:
- In the bowl of your mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in an exceedingly massive bowl to be used along with your hand-held mixer, place shortening and extracts. Beat till creamy (at least one minute).
- Begin adding granulated sugar one cup at a time.
- When the mixture begins to become dry start adding cream a touch bit at a time alternating with the granulated sugar.
- Beat till creamy. Use additional or less cream to succeed in desired consistency. (I like for it to be swish enough to pipe through a piping bag, however still a small amount additional firm than typical boughten ice.)
- Add foodstuff if desired.
NOTES:
Shortening is what makes this ice "crisp" up. you'll be able to swap [*fr1] for howeverter but it'll melt/fall additional quickly and should colapse if cookies area unit stacked on prime of 1 another. If you swap out for all howeverter well then you're creating Buttercream frosting- good for spreading on cakes but not most popular for piping. At very cheap of this post i'll link to associate organic all vegetable shortening.Reference : inkatrinaskitchen
