12 DAYS OF COOKIES – DAY 2: CHRISTMAS TREE spread BLOSSOMS

Decorated for the vacations, these Christmas Tree spread Blossoms area unit a fun twist on the classic spread cookie and area unit good for your next cookie swap or vacation party!



INGREDIENTS


  • 48 Hershey's Kisses chocolate candies
  • 1/2 cup shortening (I used Crisco)
  • 3/4 cup spread
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 one/2 cups general-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sodium hydrogen carbonate
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 sugar, for rolling
  • green icing
  • red, green, & white vacation sprinkles
  • disposable piping bag fitted with a Wilton carpet #4 piping tip

INSTRUCTIONS

COOKIES


  • Preheat kitchen appliance to 375°F and line cookware with parchment paper. take away wrappers from chocolates.
  • Beat shortening and spread in giant bowl till well integrated.
  • Add 1/3 cup refined sugar and brown sugar; beat till soft.
  • Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
  • Stir along flour, sodium hydrogen carbonate and salt; step by step beat into spread mixture.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. appear sugar and place on ready cookware.
  • Bake 7-8 minutes or till gently suntanned.
  • Immediately press a chocolate into center of every cookie; cookie can crack around edges. take away from cookware to wire rack. Cool fully.
  • ASSEMBLY
  • NOTE: Cookies should be fully cooled & chocolate hardened before decorating.
  • Fill the ready piping bag with inexperienced icing.
  • Starting at the bottom of the Hershey Kiss, pipe a line of icing that swirls up & around to the highest of the kiss.
  • Immediately sprinkle with vacation sprinkles.
