Easy Shrimp and Creamy sleazy Grits! the final word southern meal! sleazy grits, spicy shrimp, crisp bacon and contemporary inexperienced onions create the final word comfort food!
Ingredients
- 1/2-3/4 pound deveined and shelled shrimp
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons recent Bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoke-cured paprika
- 2 cups stock
- 1/2 cup yellow corn grits
- 2 ounces cheese (I used reduced fat)
- 1 cup cut sharp cheddar
- 2 scallion stalks, chopped
- 2 slices bacon
- salt and pepper to style
Instructions
- In a giant cooking pan cook 2 slices of bacon over medium heat till crisp, take away bacon from cooking pan, roughly chop. Wipe cooking pan clean and put aside to use later for the shrimp.
- In a medium to giant sauce pan bring stock to a boil, add grits and cut back heat to low. cowl and let grits simmer for seven minutes, stirring sometimes.
- When grits have absorbed the liquid add cheese, cut cheese and salt and pepper to style.
- Stir mixture well, cowl and take away from heat.
- Place shrimp in a very giant bag or bowl, add recent Bay, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and smoke-cured paprika and toss till shrimp is coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a very giant pan over medium high heat. Add shrimp and cook three minutes on all sides or till shrimp is pink and tender.
- To assemble the shrimp and grits add a heaping serving of grits to 2 shallow bowls. prime with shrimp, cut inexperienced onions, cut bacon and extra pepper.
